Founded during the silver rush in the late 1800's, and a short distance down the road from the 'more recent' developments of Vail and Beaver Creek, you'll find the sleepy township of Minturn. A small but burgeoning antique industry has taken off in this community accompanied by a variety of restaurants to visit conveniently located within its parochial retail center.

 

The Eagle River winds alongside this picturesque mountain village adding to its charm and beauty. Property types found in Minturn range from quaint single-family homes to townhomes and small businesses.

 

Population:

The town's population has traditionally been long time locals who appreciate the history and charm of the area.

Avon and Wildridge

A mix of locals and visitors, location and affordability. Early English immigrants in the area named the land Avon because it reminded them of the Avon River Valley in England, birthplace of William Shakespeare. In small-town Avon, you’ll find pocket parks, playgrounds and Nottingham Lake. A town center plaza with shopping and restaurants, Chapel Square, Super Wal-Mart® and Home Depot® serve locals and the surrounding communities. The 1-70 corridor offers convenience and easy access to Beaver Creek, Vail and the White River National Forest. A proposed gondola will soon connect Avon to Beaver Creek.

 

On the ridges and ravines above the commercial core is Wildridge. Sharply defined ridges and panoramic vistas mean you’ll see for miles. In Wildridge, you can take a walk among the wildflowers or watch the 4th of July fireworks with the kids from some of the best views in the Vail Valley. For those who want a home without spending too much, there are single-family residences, condominiums and townhomes.

The Jack Nicklaus-designed Country Club of the Rockies, an 18-hole championship course.

 

Ski Resort:

Arrowhead has 180 acres of skiable terrain, 12 trails, a vertical drop of 1,700 feet and one high-speed chair. With the Village-to-Village Trail, the trails of Arrowhead are linked with Beaver Creek Village and Bachelor Gulch, creating 1,625 acres of skiable terrain on Beaver Creek Mountain.

 

Special Amenities:

Many vacation rentals come with access to the Arrowhead Alpine Club and its extensive recreational facilities. Arrowhead Village is a pedestrian-only village. Small, quiet, you can walk everywhere. Edwards and Lake Creek

One of the fastest growing towns in the Vail Valley. Edwards is minutes away from Avon and Beaver Creek but has a warmer climate. Three distinct commercial centers. At Riverwalk, you’ll find condominiums, restaurants, and steps away in the Victorian-themed village, a market, specialty shops and a movie theater.

 

A nice addition to the commercial centers and social scene is the planned Eagle River Preserve.  72 acres of Vail Valley heartland which will become public open space, owned by Eagle County, for hiking, biking, fishing, wildlife viewing and other dispersed low-impact recreation.  The parcel will also represent the first significant stretch of public open space between Vail and Edwards.

 

Family-oriented neighborhoods like Homestead feature single-family homes and spacious ranch estates on the banks of Lake Creek. At Freedom Park, you’ll find a new skatepark, recreation pond and bike paths. Quality health care can be found at the Edwards Medical Center and the Shaw Regional Cancer Center.

 

Lake Creek. One of the most sought after places to live in Eagle County. Located downvalley from the major Vail Valley resorts, the lower elevations of Lake Creek have milder winters, and spring comes earlier in the year. The higher elevations of Lake Creek have a high-alpine climate similar to the higher elevations of the Vail Valley.

 

Population:

The Lake Creek valley is sparsely populated, and the combined permanent, year-round population of Edwards and Lake Creek is approximately 8,500 residents.

In Edwards, three shopping areas, including Riverwalk, the Corner at Edwards and the Edwards Business Center. Enjoy a summertime Farmers Market. Year-round medical facilities and cancer treatment. There are approximately 8,000 residents in Edwards and Lake Creek, and 950 year-round residents in Singletree.
